Gora, Krško
Gora (; (ドイツ語:Sankt Lorenzberg)〔''Leksikon občin kraljestev in dežel zastopanih v državnem zboru,'' vol. 6: ''Kranjsko''. 1906. Vienna: C. Kr. Dvorna in Državna Tiskarna, p. 76.〕) is a small village in the hills northwest of Leskovec in the Municipality of Krško in eastern Slovenia. The area was traditionally part of Lower Carniola. It is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Lower Sava Statistical Region.〔(Krško municipal site )〕 ==Name== The name of the settlement was changed from ''Gora Svetega Lovrenca'' (literally, 'Mount Saint Lawrence') to ''Gora'' (literally, 'mountain') in 1955. The name was changed on the basis of the 1948 Law on Names of Settlements and Designations of Squares, Streets, and Buildings as part of efforts by Slovenia's postwar communist government to remove religious elements from toponyms.〔''Spremembe naselij 1948–95''. 1996.
